MS's Marble

Marble is just one of those gerbils I wasn't expecting to create. I bred one of my "small spotted" gerbils to a gorgous Schimmel female, and was shocked when the pups came out Mottled.

Marble has a beutiful feminine build, a varigated pattern, and a perfectly straight tail. She has a lot of wonderful qualities.

Tribute to Yoshi

Tag: gerbil, tribute, yoshi

Yoshi passed away around 10pm tonight. He'd been ill for a day or so, and was really weak. Despite syringe feeding, Antibiotics, and heat pads, he was extremely weak, and eventually had a fit and passed away in my hands. Yoshi was one of my first gerbils who made me fall in love with the species.  He came to me as one of 10 gerbils, kept in a tiny hamster cage, when he was around 3 weeks old. Yoshi, Flash & Toad were the first three I kept, Toad was his sister (Then thought of as brother, woops) and Flash was the only boy from another litter. He lived most of his life with Flash & BamBam until Bam had to be seperated from the other 2 for being violent. He was a cute, chubby little chap, and him and Flash were thick as theives from the start.

C-separator/resn).  With having so many of the Ruby-Eyed Whites and White-Bellied Creams appearing in the litters, she assumed that eventually she would see Slates or Grey Agoutis appearing in the litters too.  None ever appeared.

My "ticked" Burmese/Siamese Project

Tag: breeding, burmese, siamese, ticked

Left: In my first litter of Colorpoints, I had a Spotted Burmese named Lemon. Lemon's coat was not a smooth even color. It always had a faint appearance of being ticked. At first I thought it was do to the presence of g in the line. Lemon was bred to a Siamese Male, Espresso. They had pups. None of their pups had the appearance of being ticked. I kept two spotted Burmese females.

Digging Gerbils

Tag: digging, gerbils

I took these short movies a few weeks ago when I first introduced the girls... I've just added in some more toys to the tank now I am quite certain they are doing well together; then the next step is adding even more susbstrate

After splitting and then moving them into their tank, I tried to add as much substrate from their split tank with a relatively small amount of fresh substrate so not to upset them.
