When you first get your gerbils home, the first instinct is always to get them out and play right away. However, this isn’t fair on the animals which is why some new owners instantly think their animals “hate” them, or are “nasty”, simply because they rushed in and ended up getting bitten. Wherever you get gerbils, pet shop, rescue, breeder, they will always need some time to recuperate from the journey and become accustomed to their new surroundings.
